Rotaract and Rotary Global Initiatives: We offer programs, exchanges and lots of opportunity to get connected to fellow Rotaractors and Rotarians around the world. Here is a sampling of the many global initiatives available when you become a member of the Twin Cities Rotaract.
Camp RYLA: This camp is the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards for high school juniors. It is sponsored by the St Paul Rotary Club and takes place at Camp St Croix in Hudson, WI the last weekend in April of every year. Its purpose is to develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship in young people. Rotaractors may serve as mentors for the RYLA attendees as needed.
Rotary Friendship Exchange (RFE): The RFE is a usually a ten-day (or more) cultural exchange between districts. The length of stay is agreed upon by both district's friendship exchange committees. Usually with groups of up to 12 Rotarians/Rotaractors and spouses. It offers you an opportunity to experience another culture firsthand by living in the home of a Rotarian/Rotaractor and learning about Rotary's projects within that community. During the exchange you will visit various communities and may live with multiple hosts.
Group Study Exchange: The Group Study Exchange is a month long exchange between business professionals of two Rotary Clubs of different countries. It offers team members the opportunity to meet, talk and live with Rotarians and their families in a warm spirit of friendship and hospitality with the purpose of learning about another country, absorbing vocational and cultural opportunities and serving as ambassadors of goodwill for Rotary and their own country.
Global Grants: Rotary Foundation Global Grants support large international activities with sustainable high-impact outcomes in one or more of the six areas of focus and have a long-term impact. Global grants support a variety of activities based on the needs of the benefiting communities or participants. Clubs and districts can either create their own activities or sponsor packaged global grants that are developed by The Rotary Foundation in cooperation with its strategic partners.
